Education Caucus

Education Caucus

The Education Caucus consists of the AP Education and the 8 Faculty STARs. The Caucus meets 5 times per year in advance of the Student Representative Council. The Faculty STARs bring forward issues from their faculty, and the Caucus can offer solutions. Any changes to the Caucus or the union’s education policy must first pass through the Education Caucus. The Caucus has the power to undertake research and run education campaigns, hold the AP Education to account and co-ordinate involvement in national education activity.

Forums

Within the Education Caucus there are 4 Faculty Forums, each chaired, minuted and organised by the two Faculty STARs from each faculty. These forums will be held every month and attended by course STARs and faculty staff. This is an opportunity for STARs to raise any issues on their course and get a response from university staff. These meetings will be minuted and a report sent to faculty staff, STARs and the Education Caucus. To get involved in the Faculty Forums get in touch with your AP Education, education@leedsmetsu.co.uk
