Met News Online
New for 2012 - Met Media Online - Student insight, observation and discussion.
The Met Online has now been successfully launched and received over 1000 hits on its first day.
The Met Online is led by student volunteers who are elected to the committee. They are entirely responsible for the organisation of the online student media site. The committee will work with the elected SU Executive Officer (VP Activities) and Student Development staff to create a successful media volunteer programme and high quality web content with up to date information for students.
There remains a volunteer vacancy for the position of editor. Please keep a look out for details of an election coming soon. To register interest please contact J.C.Clough@leedsmet.ac.uk

Editor (Editorial Committee Chair)
- Chair The Met Online committee
- The external ‘Face’ of The Met to Union/University and external organisations
- Recruit all members of committee/ (with support of AP Development)
- Co-ordinate and have oversight of all programing (including quality control and
feedback) - Maintain regular contact with AP development
- Supervise the completion of all Health and Safety forms/assessments
- Innovate and generate new ideas to progress the future of The
Met (within input from committee/AP development and external feedback) - Provide an in depth hand over to incoming editor
- Commitment to engaging in union democratic bodies (mentioned below)
Further responsibilities
Member of the student representative council - (the highest representative body of the
Students’ Union which exists to debate, amend and pass policy as well as hold
the Officers [AP development and rest of sabbatical team] to account)
