Walk in my Shoes is a series of semi-structured one-to-one conversations between people of different faiths. You discuss how you make sense of your lives, covering topics like life, death, tolerance, and why bad things happen to good people.
How does it work? At the initial meeting on the 17th of February you will be paired up with a conversation partner of a faith you are interested in learning about. Then throughout the term you’ll meet your partner for one-to-one conversations in your own time. This might be at a café, somewhere on campus or where ever you feel comfortable. You will be provided with topic sheets that help you to get started in your conversations, although you are free to take the conversation in any direction you wish. You’ll have the chance to reflect on how your conversation went, where you succeeded in getting your perspective across and what you have learned about the other. We will be providing diary rooms at both Universities for everyone to record their thoughts on a Dictaphone. You may also wish to keep a personal written journal of your experiences on this programme.
How do I sign up? Simply email walkinmyshoesleeds2011@gmail.com and we’ll send you a registration form
Who are the organisers? This programme has been coordinated by the Student Unions of both Leeds Metropolitan University and the University of Leeds, along with the Universities Chaplaincy in Leeds. "
